Sanctuary, Socks, and Rain

It's rainy and dreary here today with a cold front ("cold" being relative since it's 75-80 F) and the outskirts of Tropical Depression Beryl, which the cold front is kindly pushing away.  So, not a great picture-taking day.  Like I need help taking a bad picture.

It doesn't seem like I have been working on this much, but apparently someone has since I am 3/4 done with this page.

A couple of hours work on Nature's Little Helper.

Spring Forward socks are done.  And Monkey is started.

Earlier, I had the front door open and as I walked through the hallway, I saw a little face peeking in at me through the glass.  I think someone wanted in where it was dry.  Unfortunately, he ran off before I could grab the camera and all I got was his escape.

And the last bit is I caved in the latest HAED 50% sale.  I nabbed Cute As A Button, Ariadne, and The Astronomer.  Then as an after thought, I also got QS Rain Dragon.  And I need more charts like I need another hole in the head.  :D

Happy stitching under the umbrella today,

Obsess Much?

The sockitis case turned into a full-blown obsession this week.  I spent too many hours on Raverly queuing up sock patterns.  (~75!!!).  And more in my library for future reference.  It was bad.  And that means I spent more time looking at knitting rather than actually knitting.  I am on the foot of the second sock of Spring Forward and will hopefully finish that up this week so I can move on to Monkey.  I am totally into lace socks now.  And Cookie A socks.  I am going to try to do the patterns that will use up the yarn I have already collected as much as I can.  Unfortunately, most of the sock yarn I have bought to date is stripey yarn and that doesn't seem go well with most of the patterned socks.  Solid colors seem to show off the patterns so much better.

I do plan on getting back to work on Sanctuary today.  Finally, right?  And Monday is a holiday for us, and I plan on a stitching/knitting day.  I cleaned the house today, so I can indulge guilt-free.

Happy Stitching,
Tamara

Sockitis

It's been a non-stitching week here, but a lot of sock knitting going on.  I finally finished the pair (#7) I've had on the needles for awhile.

Then I branched out and started Spring Forward socks.  I finished the first of the pair last night and finished the ribbing on the second today.

I've really enjoyed this pattern and I'm so glad to know I am capable of doing something other than a plain vanilla sock.  (Not that there is anything wrong with vanilla socks; I'm sure I will be doing tons more of those).  I'm already planning the next pair and the pair or two or three after that.  I think I have caught a bad case of sockitis this week.  And I'm not looking for a cure, lol.

Happy stitching, knitting or whatever you are doing today,
Tamara

Sanctuary Update

Hello and welcome to my new followers!

Here's a little update on Sanctuary.  I've really been enjoying stitching on this again since there is so much less confetti.

I have put a few stitches into Nature's Little Helper over the past few weeks.

It's raining buckets here today and I'm so glad I don't have to go out in it.  It's looking like a good afternoon to put on the TV and stitch the day away.  Especially since I have no ambition to do anything else, lol.  This past week we did have some nice weather and there was some wildlife spotting.

Mr. and Mrs. Goose on an outing with the kids.

George stopped by to say hi.

After I took that picture of George, I picked him up and put him outside the fence as I don't think he would have found his way out quickly.  He wanted to get to the lake behind my house, I'm sure.  About five minutes after I put him out there he took off in that direction.  It was so funny;  I didn't know a turtle could run that fast.  I so wish I could have gotten a video of it.  It was 0 to 60 in a flash.

Happy stitching!

Sanctuary Happy Dance #15

Happy, happy, joy, joy!  Another page of Sanctuary is done.

The weather here has decided to take a summer-like turn and I refuse to turn on the A/C just yet since it is supposed to cool off again on Sunday.  We'll see if my resolve lasts that long; it's getting a little warm and sticky and that makes it hard to stitch or knit.  And so does the pulled muscle in my back.  Ouch.

Well, I'm off to get a start on page 16.

Happy stitching!
