I'm Mmmmellllllttttttinnggg

Boy, summer finally decided to arrive with a vengence this week.  Temps in the 90's (F) with approximately 10000% humidity. Ick.

I'm getting the urge to stitch more lately.  Unfortunately, I haven't been able to carve out any time to actually sit and stitch.  I had planned to do so yesterday and today, but things have come up and ended up not having the time after all.  So I'll shoot for next week.  Just to show that I have been putting a couple of stitches in each week, I will post an update picture.  I should make it a "Spot the Difference" between this one and the last photo as the progress is more hopeful than actual, lol.

I finished the first sock of the next pair:

I seem to be on a Halloween theme today without intending to.  My next pair of socks will also fall into this category.

Happy stitching and stay cool!

Drive By Post

Hello, all.  Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July.

Finished another pair of socks.

These were made with String Theory Colorworks Oxidane in Continuum.  So soft and yummy!  Now it just needs to get cold, lol.

I have another shawl on the needles and now a new pair of socks.  I expect the socks will be done first.  I'm really liking the (somewhat) instant gratification of the socks.  And I'm in a stripey mood.  Which is good since I tend to buy a lot of stripey yarn and I need to knit up some stash.  It's getting a little out of control.

I have had an urge now and then to stitch, but I just can't seem to sit still long enough to put needle to fabric.  Although, I did dig out my knot garden and put in a few (really, like 20) stitches.  I was thinking of digging out that Mill Hill I started.....can't remember when....and make that my August project.  Maybe I could squeak out one measly stitching finish this year.

I'm hoping to get some home improvement projects done this year, too.  I actually finally (!) painted a door to get it ready to hang a blind.  It's been waiting for me to get around to for at least 5 (yes, FIVE) years.  Did I ever mention I was the Queen of Procrastination?  I needed to paint an area of the ceiling, too, and nearly had a major paint disaster.  Managed clean-up with only a tiny dribble of paint on the carpet which cleaned up fine.  (And yes, I had a drop cloth down, but moved over to get a small spot and was literally an inch off the drop cloth).  And therein lies the reason I procrastinated for so long because I am a catastrophe waiting to happen on the best of days, lol.  But time for knitting and stitching may be even more limited once I get started, but it will be so nice to finally get some stuff done around here!

Happy Stitching,

Tamara
