I changed the colors slightly and I wish I had used a little darker fabric, but it's still nice and pretty and very sparkly. All that metallic braid cooperated nicely, as well.
Here's the Holly Jolly Humbug:
I have the Just Nan Gingerbread Cube all stitched, I just need to put the beads on this week. I think I will try to get back to Curl Up for New Year's with a few little things thrown in for good measure.
Freebie Mini Cat from Happiness Is Cross Stitching blog (with a couple of modifications):
Holly Jolly Humbug (Kincavel Krosses), front and back:
Next time will be the Christmas stitching and other WIP update. Next week is busy, so it will hopefully be New Year's Eve for that. I might even have a finish if I get off this time sucker and get to stitching!
I've been so lax on updating! I have been stitching up a storm, though. I have finished stitching the Halloween Quadrille.
I was hoping to get it put together this week, but I don't think that's going to happen.
I made a tiny bit of progress on the Trick or Treat Sampler, not as much as I had hoped for.
There are two more bands done on this since this picture was taken; just not in the mood for Halloween at the moment, lol.
I stitched an ornament for an exchange next week, Holly Jolly by Kincavel Krosses.
It turned out much nicer than I expected. I need to get it sewn into a humbug ASAP.
And I caved and started something new. I just couldn't resist the new Just Nan Gingerbread Cube.
I don't expect I will have this done by Christmas because I was bad and started another Christmas piece yesterday. The next update will show that and the two finishes I got back, three if I get the humbug together. Although, I might not get to sit here again until New Year's. And I really want to do a winter piece before I start on Easter. So much to do, sigh.
I'm itching to get going on some Christmas stuff now, but I will be good. I received my Just Nan new patterns, the Gingerbread Angel Mouse and the Gingerbread Cube, so cute! I just ordered the fabric for the cube today and for another Christmas piece, so I will need lots of willpower soon or some additional ambition to get something accomplished on the Quadrille and the Trick or Treat Sampler.
I have made visible progress on Curl Up this week! Unfortunately, the picture is it's usual crappy quality, lol.
Here's the Halloween Quadrille progress:
I seem to be getting out of my Halloween mood. I have several Christmas/winter charts on the top of my to do pile, but I will finish this one and the Trick or Treat Sampler before moving on. Hopefully, I will have them done by next Halloween. Sigh.
There were some pretty visitors here a few weeks ago:
Heaven and Earth Designs
Nature's Little Helper
Jim Warren
The Victoria Sampler
Autumn Romance Sampler
I had a page finish on Curl Up last night.
Curl Up With A Good Book
3/48 pages
No progress on the Trick or Treat Sampler this week and I didn't get an update picture of the Halloween Quadrille. I've finally finished my running around for the weekend, so I am going to try to get a few more stitches in Curl Up this afternoon.
I've gotten a good start on the Victoria Sampler Trick or Treat Sampler. I was not sure about my fabric choice for this one (PTP Haunted), but I think it's going to be good.
I was hoping to have the next band finished this weekend, but I'm not feeling very motivated.
I did manage to finally finish a pair of socks just this morning:
Red Heart Heart & Sole
Spring Stripes
And now I have accomplished at least 3 things already this morning, lol. So, now on to get the weekend errands done before having to go back to work tomorrow. Maybe a little more stitching on Trick or Treat, then tonight I will work on a new start, The Sweetheart Tree Halloween Quadrille.
It's done on 28 ct Tropical Orange linen with the recommended 3 strands.
I finally got Just Nan's Miss Witchy Mouse put together.
Yesterday I took Nature's Little Helper and Autumn Romance to the framers.
Next up is The Sweetheart Tree Halloween Quadrille and I have started The Victoria Sampler Trick or Treat Sampler. The over 1 house at the top of that one is killing me! I was concerned with my fabric choice, but so far, it's looking good. When I get top band finished, I'll post a picture.
Wow, it just started pouring rain here! There is a cold front moving through today and we should have some nice fall weather for the weekend.
I'm hoping to have a couple more little finishes later this week and if I do, I will have new starts to show. It looks like Halloween is going to be a big theme.
Woke up to a gloomy, rainy day this morning and it's been breezy and raining steady all day. Perfect fall day! I could stand it to be just a few degrees cooler, however, it's a bit muggy. Yesterday's 66 degrees was really nice. I'd like to say I took the opportunity to sit and stitch and watch something good on TV, but I have spent the majority of the day cleaning out a file cabinet. And I haven't made much of a dent yet, but at least I can see progress. And I can now shove a piece of paper or two into it again, lol.
Just Nan's Miss Witchy Mouse stitching was finished last week, now I just have to find a day to be able to sit and put it together. This was a very fun stitch!
I have only two more bands on the Autumn Romance sampler to do now. No picture of that one as it's all rolled up on the scroll rods.
And Curl Up has gotten a bit of love the past few weeks. I was suprised when I compared it to the last picture on here.
I'm hoping I can settle in after dinner and get a few stitches in, probably on Curl Up. I'm not sure I'm up to the metallic in the next band on the sampler today.
I've been working on that to-do list. I got my 15 sided biscornu put together.
You can find the pattern on Kathrin's Blog. This one turned out bigger than I really wanted on 28 count, so if I ever do another one, it will be on higher count fabric. And I really want to do another one some day.
I'm 3/4 done with the stitching on Just Nan's Witchy Mouse. I've hit a little speed bump with that one. I think it's because if I actually finish the last little bit of stitching, then I am obligated to put it together, lol. I'm already looking forward to stitching the two Christmas mice.
I've completed three more bands on my Autumn Romance sampler. Only three more left to go.
I'm in a huge block of black on Curl Up and I've been pecking away at that a little. My urge to stitch hasn't been very strong the last couple of weeks, unfortunately. I think about stitching. I even want to stitch on my projects. I just can't seem to get enough gumption to pick it up and stitch on it.
Sorry for the lack of pictures. Did I mention I am feeling a little bit gumptionless (yes, I did just make that word up, lol) lately? My get up and go has got up and gone without me. And for a non-energetic person such as myself, it makes life that much harder. But I have vacation time in 4 weeks...
I have not touched any other stitching this week. I have been kitting up several pieces, though. Now I just have to put together my 15 sided Christmas ornament and work on VS Autumn Romance this upcoming week. Then, I think I will do the new Just Nan Witchy Mouse. After that, will be VS Winter Garden Sampler and Trick or Treat Sampler. All plans are subject to change without notice.
I found a few videos on YouTube this week that I think are worth sharing. Here is the first, Bach Trio Sonata for Oboe and Harpsichord.
The curtain is pretty much done! I would have a page 2 fnish, but the black on the bottom corner bleeds over from pages 3 and 4, so it will be awhile before I have an official page 2 finish. I'm going to do that black here and there while I work on the page under page 1.
It's too bad all my HAED's don't stitch up this fast! I did pick up both Sanctuary and Dress Of Daydreams and do a (very) few stitches on both. Not enough progress to take a picture of, though.
Over halfway through page 2 now. I love, love, love stitching this one!
And I keep forgetting to show my framed pieces I got back in June.

I'm starting to get a little case of finishitis, I think. I have a couple of small projects in progress that I want to finally get finished up. I feel like I've made more progress this year than I have in a long time. Of course, I just ordered fabric for 6 charts, so there will be no catching up any time soon!
Nature's Little Helper by Jim Warren, chart by Heaven & Earth Designs. Stitched on 25 ct laguna 1 X 1 full crosses. Started 10/11/2010 and finished 07/20/2014. 105,600 stitches and 89 colors.
Happy 4th of July! The weather at the moment is gorgeous, but it certainly didn't start out that way this morning. We got a little brush with Hurricane Arthur. Minimal damage here, just an ugly windy, rainy wake up. With any luck, that's the only storm we will have to deal with this year. *fingers crossed*
Now, on to the important stuff!
25/28 pages done on Nature's Little Helper:
And 17/77 pages complete on Sanctuary of Knowledge:
Now, this afternoon, I'm going to put a few stitches in Curl Up With A Good Book.
And Nature's Little Helper continues to slog along at it's snail's pace.
3/4 done with the current page. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to hit my finish goal of end of July now. I'm planning on getting lots of stitching done today and tomorrow. Then I have a three day weekend next week and want to get something done stitching/knitting wise (I'm looking at you, sock!).
Being the last Wednesday of the month, it's time for the monthly Sanctuary update. I'm actually getting close to a page finish on this one!
This thing's so huge, a page finish is barely noticeable at this point.
Off to finish a few things so I can sit and stitch the rest of the day. Oh, and we had a small disaster here with a hellacious storm last Thursday evening. This is what I came home to find.
No damage to my fence or house, just a mess to clean up. I probably would have had a heart attack if I had been home when it happened, lol. At least I no longer have to wonder if that tree could fall on my house in a hurricane or nor'easter.
This last week has been more hectic and I have not stitched as much as I would have liked. Still, there is visible progress in the two weeks since I posted an update. Why is it the last bit always seems to take the longest?
Today, I'm not feeling very ambitious. I'd like to stitch, of course. I've been trying to talk myself into finally getting my Morticia shawl blocked. But, it's a hot, lazy summer day, so I really don't know if anything will get done. I wanted to sleep in a little, but the eyelids popped open at 6AM and I couldn't get back to sleep. Why can't that happen on workday mornings instead of my day off? Grrrr.
Well, let me see if I can dredge up some motivation. Maybe some yarn and cross stitch retail therapy? Hmmmm.... I must resist, I must...resist...I must.....look. lol.
